Does Holy Trinity need to be my first choice in order to be accepted?
No. Students who place Holy Trinity in their top three choices are considered for admission but only first choice students will be considered for scholarships or financial aid.
Do I need to place Holy Trinity as my first choice in order to be considered for an academic scholarship and be given priority for financial aid consideration?
Yes. Holy Trinity gives preference to students who choose Holy Trinity as their top choice when awarding academic scholarships and financial aid. Once a student is accepted and registers for fall 2025, the student is invited to apply for financial aid between February 1 and March 31.
Does Holy Trinity offer scholarships and financial aid?
The portal for financial aid will be open, after registration. In order to qualify for financial aid, please complete the financial aid application between February 1 and March 31. Merit Scholarships are determined by the TACHS exam, the Online Application for Admission and report cards from Grades 7 and 8. Students must achieve an 95 weighted average to maintain an academic scholarship.
Does Holy Trinity offer college credit courses?
Yes. Holy Trinity offers a wide variety of AP courses and college credit through partnerships with St. John’s University and Molloy College.
Do students coming from Catholic elementary schools have a better chance of getting accepted at Holy Trinity High School?
Holy Trinity High School is a Catholic school and gives preference to students coming from Catholic elementary schools. However, Holy Trinity welcomes students of all faiths and evaluates students equally based on the results of the TACHS exam, online application and report cards from 7th and 8th grades.
Does Holy Trinity provide services for students with IEPs?
Yes. Holy Trinity’s Academic Support Program staffed by 3 full-time special education teachers, offers comprehensive support for students with an Individual Education Plans (IEPs) or 504 Accommodations. The program is specially designed to meet the individual needs of every student.
Does Holy Trinity have a cell phone policy?
Yes. Cell phones may not be seen, heard, or used in classrooms, the library, the auditorium, locker rooms, restrooms or any other location within the school building at any time before or during the school day. The only exception to this policy is as follows: Students may silently use their cell phones while in the cafeteria during their scheduled lunch period. Students are not permitted to take pictures, make video and/or audio recordings at any time. Inappropriate use of the cell phone will result in the loss of the privilege of using the cell phone at lunch time and additional disciplinary action.
Does Holy Trinity offer transportation?
Holy Trinity does not offer private transportation. However, for all students who live within 15 miles of Holy Trinity, NYS is required to provide transportation. Many students choose to take the LIRR and Holy Trinity provides a free shuttle to and from the school.
