Years at Holy Trinity- 8 years
Total years’ experience coaching - 12 years
Previous coaching experience (where, positions, what levels) - Before becoming the Varsity Lacrosse Coach at HTHS, I have coached in the Hempstead Middle School and Hempstead High school Lacrosse programs, the GCAA youth Baseball and Soccer programs and I currently run the CYO program at St. Joseph School Parish.
Playing experience, HS, College, Professional (sports)- I was a three-sport athlete at HTHS (Football, Wrestling and Lacrosse), played football and lacrosse at Nassau Community College and played for the NYPD football team.
How would you describe your coaching philosophy? "I believe in 3 things: Reps for the best, Iron sharpens Iron and the greater the value you put into a player the greater value you receive in return."
Is there a particular personal athletic experience that has helped shape your coaching philosophy? "It was an overall experience that helped to shape my coaching philosophy. My lacrosse coaches, Gene Fennell and Bob Ruland, as well as Coach Tony Mascia (Football and Wrestling) also influenced me. I liked their tone with the student-athletes, and it was their respect for the sports and the players that inspired me to coach. I have always brought that same respect and tone to every coaching position I have held."
In your opinion, what is the advantage of being a Holy Trinity Titan athlete? "I think any coach who comes back to their alumni to coach in any capacity has the greatest return for the school’s investment in that person. It shows they are there for the right reason."
Best moment as a Holy Trinity Coach? "Becoming head coach of the Varsity Lacrosse program."
What is your advice to current middle school student-athletes as they prepare for High School Athletics? "Upon choosing their high school I would choose the one that is the best fit for you, not necessarily where your friends are going."
